Romil
“You cannot swim for new horizons until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – William Faulkner
The one defining an act of Romil’s life was when she left her studies in pursuit of her passion for art and creativity. Actually chasing something we love isn’t a risk most of us would be willing to take, but Romil turned out to be one of the bold few people who have the courage to take a chance on their dreams.
“I see art everywhere,” said Romil with stars in her eyes as she showed our team a broken piece of a ceramic mermaid tail that she picked up off the ground. She went on to tell us the many ways she can use the tail to make something artistic. No doubt, her creative vision is simply enrapturing.
Romil is also greatly moved by the crisis the earth has been facing these past few years and she became determined about making the best out of things that would otherwise be ignored or go to waste. A lover of nature as well as art combined two of her favorite things to create things that are not only strikingly beautiful but also useful in our everyday lives.
Now, at twenty-two, Romil from Harayana, finds her happiness in painting Mandala style art onto leaves, which she then makes into placemats, bookmarks and more, so that you can easily bring out an accent of nature as well as a traditional art in your home.
